Zimbabwean hip-hop artist Desmond “Stunner” Chideme has offered heartfelt advice to his fellow public figures, gospel rapper Mudiwa Hood and socialite DJ Towers, following the major blessings they each recently received.
Both Mudiwa and Towers have been trending for different reasons. Mudiwa, who recently introduced his partner Kathy Graham to the public, has been showering her with praise on social media, hinting at wedding plans that have already set tongues wagging. On the other hand, Towers has found himself in the spotlight after businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo gifted him a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 2.8 GD6 along with US$50,000 cash in recognition of his loyalty to the ruling ZANU PF party.
While the two men’s breakthroughs were celebrated by many, both have also faced public criticism—Mudiwa for what some view as over-expressing his affection online, and Towers for his unapologetic political stance. Against this backdrop, Stunner took to Facebook to share a message of encouragement and caution.
Stunner’s Advice

“Two of my brothers and friends are happy at the same time. They both got what they have been longing for, and I feel like a proud dad. Both of you need to be careful now because Makomborero amapihwa ayo anokuvadzisa zvakare. Chidzikamai varume,” he wrote, essentially urging them to remain humble and grounded in the wake of their recent fortunes.

Sir Wicknell’s Loyalty Speech

“In a world full of opportunists, loyalty has become a rare and misunderstood concept. Some call it foolishness, others call it obsession, but the truth is, only the brave remain loyal even when it is said to be unpopular,” wrote Chivayo.

He went on to single out DJ Towers—real name Tawanda Timothy Marimbe—as a rare example of unapologetic loyalty to ZANU PF. According to Chivayo, Towers had faced ridicule, name-calling, and accusations of being “a lunatic” for his consistent support of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling party.
“He has turned ridicule into relevance, and that takes more guts than most people will ever have. It is very sad that he has not been given the appropriate recognition for his undying support and loyalty to the ruling party. Today, I wish to reward DJ Towers for a different and unique kind of patriotism and loyalty,” Chivayo declared.
True to his word, Chivayo instructed Towers to collect his fully paid-for Toyota Fortuner from Exquisite Car Dealership and added the US$50,000 cash as “pocket money.”

Unsurprisingly, the developments triggered a storm of debate on social media. While Mudiwa’s romantic gestures have been praised by some as genuine expressions of love, others have accused him of showing off. Similarly, DJ Towers’ reward was celebrated by his supporters but criticized by those who view it as political patronage.
